Hello everyone! I am writing to share some good news and ask for some help. As we all know it has been a rough year so far for the Richmond job market. Things are looking up, however, and Sapphire Technologies has landed an exclusive engagement that will staff about 30 people by July 6th! I am writing to see if any of you know people who are on the job market who have expertise in the following areas:
We need 10 Mainframe Systems Operations Engineers who have experience with MVS or VTAM systems programming.
2 Mainframe Systems Programmers who have experience with MVS Systems Programming and IPL
10 Midrange Systems Operations Engineers with AS400 and Tandem experience.
And several Midrange Systems Admins with Unix backgrounds.
If you know anyone who would be interested in any of these positions please let me know or have them contact me directly at 804-767-1173. Thanks again!

By now, some of you are working your job search plan, and you may be getting close to the point where you broaden your geography to include other cities.
Check out this article I ran across in CIO magazine.
This is the 10 hottest cities for IT jobs. Remember, there are lots of ways to use this information. You can find out who is hiring, research telework opportunities with them, live there just during the week, use it as a transitional job till something opens up close to home. It may not be convenient, but it looks (and pays) a whole lot better on the resume than Home Depot.
Good Luck.
PS - I have yet another server admin job I am getting ready to post, probably tonight ...
