I have a friend who works at BD (Becton Dickson, Inc) who says there are lots of IT positions open nationwide for them, but there is a hiring freeze right now. Good time to apply, and maybe wait for the inevitable hiring thaw. You never know which positions are frozen, and which ones are not.
Remember, if it is out of town work, you can always apply and then look for telecommuting opportunities or other arrangements.
From their website:
BD is a medical technology company that serves healthcare institutions, life science researchers, clinical laboratories, industry and the general public. BD manufactures and sells a broad range of medical supplies, devices, laboratory equipment and diagnostic products. BD is headquartered in the United States and has offices in nearly 50 countries worldwide.
I counted 17 IT positions, nationwide. Check them out at www.bd.com . Follow the careers link. Gotta love anyone with a two letter domain name!
Hang in there.
